for James' 4th Birthday he of course requested a rocket cake, so here's the results. We think it turned out really nice, and most important - he loved it!

James' Party Invite

My dissapearing flowers....

I just figured out what was happening to our sweet potato vines in hanging baskets over the front porch. Within a few days he completely destroyed the left side and now has moved over to the right side. It drives Adobe absolutely crazy as she watches him from a few feet away behind the window and can't get to him...

Swimming Lessons

We have just completed six weeks of swimming lessons. James and Sophia have completely changed their swimming skills. Sophia has gone from licking the water and choking everytime her face went near the water to going under the water for diving rings, jumping off the side, and pulling herself out of the pool. James can now swim quite a distance under water, some crawl stroke, touch the bottom, go off the diving board and will not wear a lift jacket - as he says "I CAN DO IT MYSELF!" or "I AM GOING TO PRACTICE MY MAD SKILLS." We are finishing off the summer of lessons with James' Birthday Party at the pool. Rocket and Space themed of course.

What a great idea!!! James and Alejandro painted cookies today - thanks to Aunt Becky's great idea. Lightly beat egg whites just before foaming, add food coloring and paint onto sugar cookies. They added red, white and blue sprinkles while the egg wash was wet and the sprinkles stayed perfectly. Thank you again for the great activity idea!!!

New Braunfels Children's Museum

Today we found a gem!! So much fun (and very clean). James' favorite part was the Space Discovery area and getting him to take off the astronaut costume was definitely an ordeal. Here he is...

James and his new friend

James has a great new friend named Alejandro. They met at gymnastics and are inseparable, probably because they are so much alike (even their little sister's have the same name). He spent the day at our house on Monday...

Ready for Swimming Lessons!!

7:30 in the morning and they are ready to go. We are done with lessons by 9 am, back home and a short break before gymnastics. They don't have anything on Fridays and we are usually going on field trips of some sort. Our best one so far was Sea World, where James rode on his first roller coaster the Shamu Express. Last week James completed his first week of VBS. We went to the Chapel on Fort Sam for "Crocodile Dock." Now, we are listening to it over and over again in the car !!
